PALMA is a cloud service
You access PALMA from https://palmacloud.com
That will take you to a landing page from where you can select one of our regional servers.
To connect to PALMA you need
- PALMA account
- Chrome web browser
- Internet connection with websockets enable
- Device, laptop or tablet
PALMA account
Your organization need to have an active PALMA subscription, then you can ask you local PALMA administrator to get access.
Chrome web-browser
PALMA is only supported with Chrome.
PALMA will run to various extent in other web browsers, though these are not officially supported.
- Chromium based web-browsers, like this is MS Edge
- Firefox
- Safari
Make sure you always have your Chrome browser updated, both to get the latest features but also to avoid security flaws. You update Chrome from Settings/Help/About Google Chrome in the Chrome browser.
Internet connection
Websockets is a requirement for connecting to PALMA, this is a technology to greatly reduce latency and load, on servers and clients. A few company networks need to enable this per site.
A high quality connection is required, with good bandwidth and latency. On a poor connection your experience may suffer, and sometimes websockets will fail even though it is enabled on your network.
Verify with http://speedtest.org or similar service that your internet connection is good and stable.
Device spec
Depending the size of the Module System you are working with your device might need different spec.
It is a good to idea to check the Performance tab in your Task Manager to see how much resources you consume.
Minimum spec is 8GB of RAM but we recommend 16GB. You need a decent processor corresponding to Intel's i5 to i7.
